Patna, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : Avadhesh Narayan Singh, the former chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council, spoke candidly about his recent resignation, his relationship with former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and the role of BJP leadership in Bihar’s political landscape. He emphasized that his resignation was not motivated by any political dispute or dissatisfaction. Instead, he accepted the party leadership’s decision.
Singh explained that he was in Delhi when he received the news regarding the leadership change, which resulted in the Janata Dal (United) taking over the chairmanship of the council. As a disciplined party worker, he stated that questioning the leadership’s decisions is not part of his values. Once the leadership made its choice, he felt it was appropriate to resign.
Having spent nearly 40 years with the party, Singh stressed the importance of respecting the decisions made by its leadership. He acknowledged the contributions of prominent figures such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, and the current national president, Nitin Naveen. Upon receiving directives from the leadership, he accepted them without hesitation.
Regarding his relationship with Nitish Kumar, Singh noted that they have always shared a personal and positive rapport. He expressed gratitude for the trust Kumar placed in him by appointing him as chairman, wishing for Kumar’s continued active role in politics.
Singh also expressed his hope for more leadership to emerge in Bihar. He welcomed the rise of youth leadership in the state and the current central leadership. When asked about potential leadership changes within the JD(U), he refrained from commenting, stating he prefers to avoid delving deeply into political matters. Singh maintains respectful relationships with both allies and opponents, aiming to include everyone in the political discourse.
Reflecting on his tenure, Singh shared that being elected as a member of the council was a significant honor. He believes that while positions may change, winning elections symbolizes the trust of the voters. He credited his success to the support of his constituents, colleagues, and the BJP. He expressed immense gratitude, stating that he could never fully repay the trust placed in him by the voters.
After his resignation, Singh received numerous calls from supporters expressing their sadness, but he himself does not feel disheartened. His primary concern is ensuring that the voices of his constituents are represented in the council. Should he choose to run for election again, he is confident in his ability to win, attributing this confidence to the support of his voters, allies, and the coalition.
Singh concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the party, stating that being a soldier of the party is a source of pride for him. He believes it is not in his nature to disregard leadership decisions. Having held various responsibilities within the organization, he has no complaints and views accepting leadership decisions as the duty of a disciplined worker.
