Patna, February 2: The Bihar Intermediate Exams have started across the state from Monday, with over 13.17 lakh students appearing for the annual tests conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).
On the first day, students of Biology and Philosophy appeared for the exam in the morning session. The exams will continue until February 13, with BSEB taking extensive measures to ensure a fair and cheat-free process. Security and monitoring arrangements at all exam centres have been strengthened accordingly.
A total of 1762 exam centres have been set up across Bihar, where candidates started arriving from 8 am. Each district has four special model centres exclusively for female students. The exams are held in two sessions daily, with videography and photography in place to maintain transparency. The first session runs from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm, while the second session is scheduled from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.
Students receive an additional 15 minutes at the start of the exam to read the question paper. On the first day’s second session, students from Arts and Commerce streams will appear for the Economics exam. Candidates from Arts, Science, and Commerce streams are all taking part in the exams.
To prevent cheating, students undergo strict two-stage frisking before entering the exam hall. Unauthorized entry is banned within a 200-metre radius of exam centres. Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, and other electronic gadgets are prohibited inside the premises. Any disruption to the exam process will lead to strict action.
Special model exam centres have been established to ensure the safety and convenience of female students. There are 152 such centres statewide, including four in Patna. Only female students appear at these centres, which are staffed entirely by women officers, invigilators, and security personnel.
