Bihar Government Vows Strict Action Against Violence Towards Women

Patna, September 23 (Daily Kiran) : Bihar’s Minister for Women and Child Development, Ramkripal Yadav, addressed concerns regarding women’s safety in Patna on Wednesday. He asserted that the state government will not tolerate individuals who disrupt societal order, particularly when it comes to protecting women. The government is committed to ensuring that no harm comes to women in Bihar.

Yadav issued a stern warning to those who engage in misconduct against women, stating that they will not escape consequences. He mentioned that a recent incident was just the beginning of tougher actions to come. “Those who misbehave must control themselves, especially the troublemakers,” he added. The government will take decisive action against offenders across the state, emphasizing the importance of establishing the rule of law.

He further stated that anyone who challenges the police will face serious repercussions. The Bihar government is adopting a zero-tolerance approach to crime, ensuring that no criminal activities will be overlooked.

This statement follows a significant uproar in Jamui district, where a video surfaced showing the alleged harassment of a minor student. The police took swift action, leading to a confrontation that resulted in the injury of the main suspect, Nandan Yadav, who was shot in the leg and hospitalized.

According to police reports, on the evening of September 19, a group of young men confronted a minor girl and her friend in the Madwa Pahadi area. During this encounter, the girl was reportedly subjected to harassment, and her male companion was assaulted. The video’s circulation on social media intensified public outrage.

Following the video’s release, police began identifying the suspects. They initially arrested three individuals and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to track down additional suspects. Authorities have identified several individuals seen in the video and are actively pursuing their arrests. The police are also taking action regarding the video that has gone viral on social media.
