Patna, March 28: Bihar’s Minister Ramkripal Yadav announced on Saturday that despite the ongoing conflict in West Asia, there has been no impact on the agricultural sector in Bihar or the country.
In a conversation, Yadav stated that while the war in West Asia affects the global landscape, the state government and its agricultural department remain fully active. “The majority of the population relies on agriculture. Today, I held a meeting with agricultural department officials to discuss every aspect of the situation,” he said.
The meeting included district agricultural officers and JDAs from Bihar. Prime Minister Modi has assured the House that the government is concerned about farmers. Efforts are being made at every level to support them. The agricultural department is closely monitoring rumors to prevent fertilizer black marketing. Verification of fertilizer stocks has been conducted across all districts, with officials active from the district to the panchayat level.
Minister Ramkripal Yadav warned that strict action will be taken against block agricultural officers, agricultural coordinators, and district agricultural officers who fail to fulfill their responsibilities. Special surveillance is being conducted in border areas, and fertilizer smuggling will not be tolerated. He also mentioned that a “Save Mother Earth” committee is being formed under the directives of the central government.
Regarding the crisis in West Asia, PM Modi held a meeting with chief ministers on Friday. During this meeting, he emphasized the need for proactive planning in the agricultural sector, urging for monitoring of fertilizer storage and distribution to ensure farmers face no difficulties in the upcoming Kharif season.
