Bihar Board 2026 Exams: Inter Starts February 2, Matric from February 17

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has officially announced the dates for Intermediate and Matric examinations 2026. The Inter exams will be conducted from February 2, 2026 to February 13, 2026. During these 12 days, papers for all streams including Science, Commerce and Arts will be held according to the scheduled timetable. Following the completion of Inter exams, Matric examinations will commence from February 17, 2026 and continue till February 25, 2026.

Along with announcing the exam dates for Matric and Inter, it has been informed that students can now obtain all examination-related information through an AI chatbot. This is the first time Bihar Board is incorporating modern technology like Artificial Intelligence into its entire examination system.

Compartmental and Special Exams in April

Bihar Board Chairman Anand Kishore, while releasing the annual examination calendar for 2026, stated that Inter examinations will be conducted from February 2 to February 13, 2026. Subsequently, Matric examinations will run from February 17 to February 25, 2026. For students who are unable to appear for the main examination due to any reason or whose results are unsatisfactory, compartmental and special examinations will be conducted between April and May. The results for 2026 examinations will be declared between May and June.

Over 15 Lakh Applications for Matric and 13 Lakh for Inter So Far

Bihar Board has reported that so far, 15,02,021 students have filled forms for Matric and 13,07,241 for Inter examinations. Students who have not yet filled their forms can do so till December 3, 2025. The Board has instructed all schools to update their student lists in time to ensure no student’s name is missed.

This announcement comes as Bihar Board continues to modernise its examination process, with the introduction of AI technology marking a significant step forward in making examination-related services more accessible to students across the state.
