Patna, March 19: The Bihar Assembly is currently hosting the ‘Developed India Youth Parliament 2026.’ Key figures in attendance include Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar, Ministers Shreyasi Singh and Sanjay Tiger, along with Assembly members Nitish Mishra, Rana Randhir, Manjit Kumar Singh, Deepa Kumari, Baboolal Shaurya, Shubhanand, Mukesh, and Kaushal Kumar, as well as officials from the Development Department. Young representatives from various districts of the state shared their thoughts on Thursday.
In an interview with a news agency, Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar stated, “The state-level Developed India Youth Parliament-2026, held in the Central Hall of the Bihar Assembly, provided an opportunity for 185 selected representatives from different districts to participate. I noticed a significant number of students expressing their views.”
Bihar’s Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh remarked, “The Developed India Youth Parliament offers a vital platform for youth to voice their thoughts. This platform is essential for the ongoing search for young leadership in politics. Historically, major movements in India have been led by the youth. Therefore, promoting youth leadership is a commendable initiative by the central government. We feel proud when talented children from Bihar present their statements. There is no shortage of talent among the youth; they just need the right platform to express themselves.”
Anushka Bhardwaj from Bhagalpur shared, “We discussed the goals of Developed India. I expressed that while plans are made, the benefits do not always reach the grassroots level. Students often remain unaware of the facilities provided by the government, highlighting the need for greater awareness.”
She added, “Youth skill development is crucial, as theoretical knowledge alone is insufficient today. Universities have focused too much on attendance rather than skills, which needs to change so that youth can advance further. Young people should also focus on developing their skills instead of wasting time.”
Sumit Kumar from Banka district stated, “I specifically came to the Assembly to present my policies. The Developed India Youth Parliament provides us with a platform to voice our opinions. Opportunities for direct interaction with the government are rare for youth.”
Sikha from Begusarai shared, “I attended the Youth Parliament to express my views under the Developed India initiative. We discussed the Union Budget 2026, where many youth shared their perspectives, including myself. I presented facts related to the budget introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. We discussed the shortcomings in achieving the vision of a developed India. Former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam dreamed of making India developed by 2020, but that goal was not achieved. Prime Minister Modi has now pledged to realize a developed India by 2047.”
