Bihar ASI Suspended After Shooting Incident Leaves One Dead, Three Injured
An ASI in Bihar was suspended after a shooting incident in a womans home resulted in one death and three injuries.
Madhubani, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : A tragic incident unfolded in Madhubani, Bihar, where an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) was involved in a shooting that left one villager dead and three others injured. The shooting occurred in the Babubarhi police station area around 1 AM on the night of November 3, 2026.
The ASI was reportedly inside a woman’s home when local villagers apprehended him and confined him in a room. In an attempt to escape, he fired four rounds from his service pistol, resulting in injuries to four individuals. The police were alerted, and the injured were transported to the Sadar Hospital in Madhubani for treatment. Unfortunately, Ashok Yadav, aged 50, succumbed to his injuries, while the other three victims are still receiving medical care.
Upon learning of the incident, Superintendent of Police Yogendra Kumar and other senior officers rushed to the scene. They met with the families of the deceased and injured, gathering information from local residents. At the hospital, they checked on the victims and instructed doctors to provide the best possible care.
Superintendent Kumar expressed his condolences, calling the event deeply unfortunate. He confirmed that the ASI had been suspended and that proceedings to dismiss him from service would commence immediately. A murder case is being filed against him, and efforts will be made to expedite the trial process for a stringent punishment.
To facilitate the ASI’s capture, five special teams have been formed and are actively conducting raids. Kumar also announced a reward of 25,000 rupees for anyone providing information leading to the ASI’s arrest.
He urged the public to refrain from spreading rumors and assured them that police actions are ongoing and effective. The Madhubani police emphasized their commitment to addressing the incident seriously and ensuring strict legal action against the perpetrator. Currently, the situation in the area remains stable, with no law and order issues reported.
