Lucknow, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : In Lucknow, Bhupendra Chaudhary, a cabinet minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, responded positively to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent announcement regarding the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) across all 21 BJP-ruled states before the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. Chaudhary welcomed Shah’s statement, highlighting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has prominently included the UCC in its manifesto, reaffirming its commitment to this initiative.
Chaudhary noted that the BJP’s manifesto was released on April 14, 2024, clearly stating the intention to implement the UCC in accordance with Article 44 of the Constitution, which pertains to the directive principles of state policy. He emphasized that the BJP believes that until the UCC is enacted, women cannot be guaranteed full protection of their rights and justice.
The UCC is viewed as a significant step towards strengthening women’s rights and establishing equality within society. Chaudhary further asserted that the central government is dedicated to enacting a modern and effective law that provides equal protection to all citizens. He stated that Amit Shah’s recent remarks reflect the government’s intent and resolve in this matter.
Chaudhary expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurances, stating that the nation trusts in the government’s commitments. He reiterated that the BJP is actively working to fulfill its promises to the public, with the UCC being an integral part of this pledge.
