Bengaluru, April 26: The TCS World 10K Marathon took place in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, on Sunday, attracting a large number of participants. Notable figures such as Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, and Congress MLA N.A. Harris were among the many celebrities who joined the race.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah remarked, “It was a challenging run. I started off a bit too fast, and the humidity of Bengaluru wore me out. However, the crowd was incredible. I have run in other cities, but the energy and support I received here in Bengaluru was truly amazing.”
BJP MP Tejasvi Surya expressed, “Over 30,000 runners from across the country and many from around the world participated. It’s fantastic to see India, especially Bengaluru, emerging as a ‘running hub’ with such enthusiastic participation from people of all ages. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the country is undergoing a revolution where everyone is taking health and fitness seriously.”
MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar stated, “This is the third or fourth time I have had the privilege of participating in this event in Bengaluru. It is always a fantastic event with tremendous energy and a great atmosphere. Running here is a joy, given the enthusiasm for fitness among the people.”
Congress MLA N.A. Harris added, “This event is a matter of great pride for Karnataka and Bengaluru. I believe it is a wonderful moment that truly inspires many to become healthier.”
Tejasvi Surya’s wife and singer Shivashree Skandaprasad also participated in the marathon. She shared, “Waking up early to work out and run has become a habit for me. While I was running, I noticed many people cheering me on, even though they didn’t know me. This is a culture that is developing across the country, and I am happy that India is undergoing such a fitness cultural shift, which is essential today. I am excited to be part of this journey and look forward to participating in more races.”
