New Delhi, February 20: Central Minister of State B.L. Verma has responded to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi‘s remarks regarding the India-U.S. trade deal. He suggested that Gandhi should wear glasses to see things clearly.
In an interview, Verma stated that no matter how much Gandhi speaks on this issue, his attempts to confuse the public will not be effective. He emphasized that Prime Minister Modi had clearly stated before the deal that the government stands with the country’s farmers, agricultural laborers, and dairy farmers. “We will not do anything against their interests. The deal protects the farmers’ rights,” he asserted.
Verma further remarked that Gandhi seems to read from a script prepared by someone else. “He should wear glasses to have the courage to see the truth. Gandhi does not even know what he says and when. If you make controversial statements, you should be prepared to face the constitutional system,” he added.
He questioned the relevance of praising the Congress party, reminding that the people of India had given them 60 years in power, yet they achieved very little. “Now, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the country is progressing. Events like the AI Summit take place, and Congress wants to take credit for that. They can continue to speak like this, but the public is watching,” Verma stated.
In response to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s comments, Verma welcomed Tharoor’s support, stating that when it comes to national interests and such issues, they should be accepted with an open heart, recognizing how the country is advancing under the Prime Minister’s leadership.
