Ayodhya, March 27: The celebrations for Ram Navami have commenced in Ayodhya, marking a significant day in the Hindu calendar. On the ninth day of the Shukla Paksha in Chaitra month, the Ram Temple adorned Lord Ram Lalla with special decorations. The atmosphere in the holy city is vibrant with the devotion and enthusiasm of countless devotees.
The birth anniversary of Lord Ram is being celebrated not only at the Ram Janmabhoomi but also at Kanak Bhawan, Hanuman Garhi, and across the nation. Various rituals began early in the morning at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. The temple gates opened at dawn, allowing devotees to have darshan of Ram Lalla.
The special puja for Ram Navami commenced with the Mangala Aarti. After the temple gates opened at Brahma Muhurta, an abhishekam was performed, bathing Ram Lalla with Panchagavya, Saryu river water, and fragrant substances. Following this, a special adornment was made, and Kapoor Aarti was conducted.
A highlight of this auspicious occasion will be the Surya Tilak at noon. At exactly 12 PM, the sun’s rays will illuminate Ram Lalla’s forehead through mirrors and lenses. This divine sight will last for about four minutes. During this time, 56 types of offerings will be presented to the deity, along with prasad of panchiri.
Ram Navami symbolizes the birth of Lord Ram. On this occasion, special prayers and ‘bhajan’ will take place amidst a massive gathering of devotees and heightened security.
This year, the excitement surrounding Ram Navami is particularly palpable, especially following the temple’s construction. Devotees from far and wide have arrived to witness the darshan of Ram Lalla and to bathe in the Saryu river.
The temple is built in the traditional Nagara style of North India. Temples dedicated to the Sun God, Goddess Bhagwati, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Shiva are located at each corner of the complex. Additionally, a statue of Jatayu is installed at Kuber Teela in the southwestern part of the premises.
