
Brisbane, December 7: Australia secured an 8-wicket victory in the Brisbane Test, moving ahead 2-0 in the series. England set a target of just 65 runs for Australia, who reached the total with the loss of 2 wickets, scoring 69 runs.
In pursuit of 65 runs, Australia faced early blows with Travis Head scoring 22 and Marnus Labuschagne contributing 3 before getting out. Jake Weatherald remained unbeaten with 17 runs and Steve Smith also stayed not out with 23 runs to guide Australia to victory.
Earlier, England’s second innings ended at 241 runs. Captain Ben Stokes was the top scorer with 50 runs. Other notable contributions came from Jack Crowley with 44 and Will Jacks with 41 runs.
In bowling, Michael Neser took 5 wickets for Australia, while Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland claimed 2 wickets each. Braden Doggett took 1 wicket.
