Guwahati, May 12: The swearing-in ceremony for Himanta Biswa Sarma as Assam’s new Chief Minister is set to take place, with final preparations underway. This significant event, scheduled for Tuesday, has attracted prominent political leaders from across the country to Guwahati.

Among those arriving are Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Baidya, and Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh. Many leaders shared their thoughts with the media upon their arrival at the airport.

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari expressed her excitement, stating, “This is my first visit to the land of Maa Kamakhya. I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Himanta Biswa Sarma on his swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday. His previous term was commendable. I have never seen such a beautiful airport before. If the airport is this stunning, he must have initiated extensive development in the state. Under the double-engine government, Assam is rapidly progressing towards development.”

Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Baidya added, “Himanta Biswa Sarma will take the oath of office on Tuesday. I thank the people of Assam for giving a decisive mandate to form the NDA government. I am confident that Chief Minister Sarma will play a crucial role in advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India.”

Extensive arrangements have been made to ensure a grand ceremony. Chief Ministers from various NDA-ruled states, Union Ministers, and senior party leaders will be present at this event.

According to Himanta Biswa Sarma, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other ministers from the central government will also attend the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP-led NDA government in Assam on Tuesday.

Before the ceremony, Sarma inspected the preparations at the Veterinary College grounds in Khanapara. He announced that the new government would officially take charge on May 12 at 11 AM, in the presence of top NDA leaders and party workers from across the state.

Given the presence of the Prime Minister and other senior political figures, extensive security measures have been implemented at the venue. Barricades, traffic diversions, and multi-layered security deployments have been established around the Khanapara area, with senior police officials reviewing preparations on Monday.
