Mumbai, April 22: The legendary Indian singer Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 on April 12. Her legacy continues to be a topic of discussion. In a recent interview, her grandson Chintu Bhosle shared his experiences, thoughts, and insights into music. He discussed the essence of real music and what it truly means to perform on stage.
Chintu Bhosle mentioned, “My recent song features pictures and memories from the past. It reflects those moments in my life when we traveled together, shot videos, and lived life through music. The images used in the song are from our personal journey.”
He also explained the difference between live performances and studio recordings. “In the studio, artists sing in complete silence and focus, striving for perfection in every note. The atmosphere during a live show is entirely different. The audience’s applause, energy, and enthusiasm impact the artist. This is why sometimes the notes and emotions can vary during a performance.”
Recalling his early days, he shared a humorous anecdote. “When I performed on stage, I would get incredibly excited. Sometimes I would jump around like a monkey or start dancing. People laughed at me. For me, music was not just about standing and singing; it was about living it fully.”
He added, “I gradually learned that every performance has its own balance. An artist must manage both their energy and notes. This experience taught me that music is not just a technique; it is a balance of emotions, where the audience and artist connect.”
Discussing the legacy associated with a great name like Asha Bhosle, Chintu said, “I have never felt any pressure. I don’t see myself as a copy of anyone; I believe in creating my own identity. My aim has always been to present my music in my unique way.”
He also emphasized making music education engaging for children. “Today’s generation struggles to focus on one thing for long, so we have initiated a music project that teaches music through characters and stories, making it less boring for kids.”
