Arshdeep Singh Praises Bumrahs Unique Style After T20 World Cup Victory

New Delhi, March 12: The Indian cricket team has clinched the T20 World Cup 2026 title by defeating New Zealand. Fast bowler Arshdeep Singh believes that the team’s process and self-confidence were key to their success on home soil. He stated that the team has set a goal to win several trophies in the coming decade. Arshdeep praised Jasprit Bumrah, saying it feels like he is playing on a computer rather than on the field.

At the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Indian team secured their third T20 World Cup trophy by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final. India became the first country to win the T20 World Cup title on home ground. In a video shared on BCCI TV, Arshdeep mentioned, “When we won the T20 World Cup in 2024, I told Hardik Pandya and the team that we need to win at least five trophies in the next ten years.”

He emphasized the importance of following the process. “We knew that if we played to that standard, the results would come naturally. We focused on the process and backed our game,” he added. Arshdeep also shared his experience of bowling alongside Bumrah.

“It was a lot of fun bowling with Bumrah. Cricket seems very easy for him, and it feels like he is playing on a computer. However, Bumrah’s process is remarkable. He works very hard and inspires us to work hard as well.” Bumrah had an outstanding performance in the T20 World Cup 2026, being one of the highest wicket-takers in the tournament with 14 wickets across eight matches.

Arshdeep expressed gratitude to the fans for their continuous support during the victory. “You all have given us so much love. Especially when we lost a match, your support was invaluable, and I thank you for that,” he said.

However, Arshdeep’s performance in the tournament was not as impressive, managing only nine wickets in eight matches with an economy rate of 8.46. In the semi-final against England, he took just one wicket while conceding 51 runs in his four-over spell.
