Arshdeep Singh Opens Up About Social Media Controversy During IPL

New Delhi, August 2: Indian cricket team’s left-arm fast bowler, Arshdeep Singh, has addressed the social media controversy that arose during the Indian Premier League (IPL). He faced criticism for some of his posts on social media.
In a recent interview on a YouTube channel, Arshdeep stated, “The IPL had ended. I thought I would fix everything. People make it an issue, asking why I deleted videos and what happened to Arshdeep’s Instagram account, why it changed overnight. But there’s nothing to it, brother. I just felt like deleting them, so I did. If I feel like it, I’ll put them back. It’s just a matter of my mood. Whenever I feel like it, I share some posts. There was no negative intention behind removing the posts.”
The Punjab Kings had a stellar start in IPL 2026, ranking among the top two teams for half the season. However, their performance declined significantly, leading to a series of losses and ultimately missing out on the playoffs. Following this, Arshdeep faced trolling due to poor bowling performances and removed all content from his Instagram after the tournament concluded.
Currently, Arshdeep is away from cricket. This left-arm fast bowler is one of India’s most successful bowlers in the T20 format, often leading the bowling attack in shorter formats. To date, he has taken 135 wickets in 91 matches and has claimed 30 wickets in 18 One Day Internationals. However, he has yet to make his Test debut.
