Annabel Sutherland Shines with Four Wickets as India Bowled Out for 198 in Pink Ball Test

Perth, March 6: The Indian women’s cricket team faced off against Australia in a single Test match at the WACA ground. On Friday, the Indian team was all out for 198 runs in their first innings. Annabel Sutherland delivered an impressive bowling performance, claiming four wickets. Jemimah Rodrigues stood out for India, scoring a half-century.

In the pink ball Test, Australian captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and opted to have India bat first. The Indian innings got off to a rocky start, with Smriti Mandhana dismissed for just 4 runs. Pratika Rawal managed 18 runs, including three boundaries, before falling to Sutherland.

Shafali Verma failed to capitalize on a promising start, getting out for 35 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues played a solid innings, scoring 52 runs off 84 balls, hitting seven fours. Unfortunately, she lacked support from her teammates.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur also struggled, returning to the pavilion after scoring 19 runs. Deepti Sharma disappointed with just 7 runs. Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh faced 41 balls but could only muster 11 runs. Sneha Rana contributed 5 runs, while Kashvi Gautam remained not out at 34 runs off 54 balls. Kranti Gaud and Sayali Satghare added just 1 and 7 runs, respectively.

For Australia, Annabel Sutherland excelled, taking four wickets for 46 runs in 17 overs. Lucy Hamilton claimed three wickets for 31 runs, while Darcy Brown took two wickets. Ashley Gardner dismissed Richa Ghosh. The Indian team struggled on the bouncy pitch in Perth, losing wickets at regular intervals and failing to surpass the 200-run mark.
