Ankita Lokhande Calls Usha Nadkarni a ‘Rockstar’, Shares Heartfelt Tribute

Mumbai: The teaser for the upcoming South Indian film ‘Gandhi Tox’, starring superstar Vijay Sethupathi, was released on Tuesday. The film is unique as a silent movie, featuring no dialogues. The music, composed by A.R. Rahman, is set to bring the story’s emotions and twists vividly to life.

At the trailer launch event, veteran actress Usha Nadkarni, known for her work in Marathi and Hindi cinema, was present. Watching Usha on screen in this film moved her former co-star and ‘Pavitra Rishta’ fame actress Ankita Lokhande deeply. Ankita shared a video of Usha Nadkarni on her Instagram, expressing her respect and affection for the senior artist.

Ankita fondly refers to Usha as ‘Aai’ (mother) and praised her extensively in the post. She described Usha as a ‘rockstar’ and an inspiration to everyone. Ankita wrote, “Aai, you truly are a rockstar and an inspiration to all of us in every way. There is so much to learn from you. Even today, you remain passionate, dedicated, and humble towards your work. I salute your honesty and simplicity. I love you very much.”

It is noteworthy that Ankita and Usha shared screen space in the TV serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’, where Usha played the role of Ankita’s mother-in-law. The show aired in 2009 and featured Ankita Lokhande and the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput as leads.

The film ‘Gandhi Tox’, directed by Kishore Pandurang, stars Vijay Sethupathi along with Arvind Swami, Aditi Rao Hydari, Siddharth Jadhav, and Mahesh Manjrekar in key roles.

The trailer has already created a buzz on social media. The story focuses on an unemployed man who falls in love with his neighbour, played by Aditi Rao Hydari. With A.R. Rahman’s powerful music and stellar performances by Sethupathi, Swami, and Aditi, the trailer has garnered much attention. ‘Gandhi Tox’ is scheduled for release in cinemas on 30 January.
