Alienware has launched the updated Area-51 desktop gaming PC featuring AMD Ryzen 9000X3D processors. First revealed at CES this January, the system is now available in various configurations through Dell’s official online store.
The starting model is priced at $3,349 after discounts. It comes equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 9700X processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, 32GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1TB solid-state drive. At the higher end, there is a fully loaded version costing $7,599, which includes the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, 64GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090, and up to 8TB of SSD storage.
The Area-51 features a spacious 80.5-liter case designed with positive-pressure airflow. This means fans actively pull cool air into the system while heat exits through passive rear vents. Alienware states this cooling design runs 13 percent cooler, operates 45 percent quieter, and delivers 25 percent more airflow than previous models. The system also offers up to 50 percent improved processing power compared to machines from five years ago.
Supporting AMD Ryzen 9000 series desktop processors, the system includes options such as the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and the 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X3D, which offers up to 144MB of cache. The X870E chipset motherboard features a robust 10+2+2 phase voltage regulation design, PCIe Gen5 support, and compatibility with up to 64GB of DDR5-6400 memory. It accommodates graphics cards up to 450mm in length and four slots wide.
GPU choices include Nvidia RTX 50-series cards ranging from the RTX 5070 to the RTX 5090, featuring up to 32GB of GDDR7 memory. The system supports over 200W of CPU power and up to 600W for the GPU.
Storage options span from 1TB to 12TB, utilizing three M.2 slots and three additional bays for 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives. Cooling support includes options for 240mm and 360mm liquid radiators, with an upgrade path to 420mm radiators after purchase.
Connectivity features include MediaTek Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 2.5G Ethernet, USB4 Type-C, and multiple USB ports. The case has a tempered glass side panel showcasing seven programmable AlienFX RGB lighting zones. Inside the chassis, QR codes provide access to video guides for easy upgrades and maintenance. Power supply options include 850W Gold-rated and 1500W Platinum-rated ATX12VO units.
