Akshay Kumar Remembers Late Actor Asrani: A Journey of 12 Films Together

Mumbai, April 15: Actor Akshay Kumar is all set to present his upcoming film, ‘Bhoot Bangla’, to audiences. The film features Vamika Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar, and Asrani in significant roles. In the meantime, Kumar shared a heartfelt post reminiscing about his long journey with the late actor Asrani.

Kumar posted a black-and-white photo of himself with Asrani on Instagram. In the image, both are seen sitting on chairs, engrossed in reading.

Alongside the picture, Akshay wrote, “Sometimes, a photo is not just a fragment of memories; it encapsulates an entire journey. This picture is from our shoot for ‘Bhoot Bangla’. This was my second and final film with Asrani ji.”

“We worked together on a total of 12 films, and I learned something new from him each time. It was always a masterclass,” he added.

Kumar highlighted Asrani’s unique talent, stating, “When he performed comedy on screen, it seemed effortless. However, making people laugh is a challenging art that not everyone can master. Asrani was a comedy maestro, and replacing him is no easy task.”

He further expressed, “For me, ‘Bhoot Bangla’ is not just a film; it is an emotional experience. It serves as a memory, a tribute, and a respect I wish to pay to Asrani. He will always remain alive in our memories, and his contributions can never be forgotten.”

Asrani passed away in October 2025 at the age of 84, but his artistry continues to resonate in the hearts of many.
