Akali Leader Criticizes AAP Government for Job Cancellations

Chandigarh, April 18: Vikram Singh Majithia, a leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal, has criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for its recent job cancellations. In a post on the social media platform X, he stated that the hallmark of AAP’s governance in Punjab has become the cancellation of job postings.

Majithia pointed out that the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) announced 3,000 assistant lineman positions earlier this month, only to cancel them shortly thereafter. He also noted that two research assistant positions in the language department were eliminated in December 2025, citing “administrative reasons.” Additionally, 343 psychological positions were canceled in the same month, despite candidates having passed exams and document verification.

He remarked that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, the record of employment has been marked by grand promises followed by abrupt retractions. In Patiala, apprentices took to the streets, but instead of addressing their concerns, the entire recruitment process was revoked.

Majithia targeted Energy Minister Sanjeev Arora, stating that while Arora holds meetings, his decisions reflect a clear policy failure. He emphasized that Punjab’s youth prepare and pass exams, only to see their job opportunities vanish overnight.

He accused Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal of misleading the public with promises of employment, only to cancel job postings in return. While guarantees were made on paper, the ground reality has been one of deception. This pattern of broken promises has now been fully exposed.
