AIADMK Announces Final List of Candidates for Tamil Nadu Elections

Chennai, March 29: The AIADMK has completed its preparations for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. On Sunday, the party’s General Secretary and Leader of the Opposition, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, released the third and final list of candidates. This list includes names for the remaining 17 constituencies.

With this announcement, the AIADMK has finalized its candidates for all seats. This time, the party aims to present a balanced mix of experience and organizational strength. Palaniswami stated that the selection of candidates was made after extensive discussions, considering their public service, roles in the organization, and winning potential.

The released list features several seasoned leaders, former ministers, ex-MLAs, and active party workers. Notable candidates include V. Valarmathi from Thousand Lights (former minister), S. Gokula Indira from Anna Nagar (former minister), Aadi Rajaram from Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni, R. Mano from Harbour, and V.N. Ravi from Virugambakkam.

Additionally, B. Sathianarayanan from Thiyagarayanagar, M.K. Ashok from Velachery, K.P. Kanthan from Sholinganallur, R.S. Rajesh from Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar, and S.R. Vijayakumar from Villivakkam have also been nominated. A. Porkodi will contest from the reserved seat in Thiruvika Nagar, Chennai.

Other candidates include M.S.R. Rajagopalan from Tiruchuli, S. Saravanan from Alandur, P. Santhana Krishnan from Kolathur, Abhishek Rangasamy from Egmore (reserved), and Thana Vimal from Alangudi.

Palaniswami expressed confidence that these candidates reflect the party’s grassroots strength. He emphasized that AIADMK’s politics have always been rooted in the principles of ‘Puratchi Thalaivar’ M.G. Ramachandran and ‘Puratchi Thalaivi’ Jayalalithaa, and this team will carry forward that legacy.
