After Divorce from Sudarshana, Himachal Minister Vikramaditya Singh Announces Second Marriage

Udaipur, 20 August (Kiran News). With the settlement of his marital dispute in Udaipur’s Family Court, Vikramaditya Singh, son of former Maharaja and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Virbhadra Singh, and the current Minister for Public Works in the Himachal Pradesh government, has officially divorced his wife Sudarshana Singh by mutual consent. More than ₹5 crore was given to his former wife as a one-time alimony. Soon after the decision, Vikramaditya Singh announced the date of his second marriage. He will tie the knot with Dr. Amreen Kaur Sekhon, Assistant Professor at Panjab University, Chandigarh, on 22 September.

In Family Court No. 3, in the case of dowry harassment between Vikramaditya Singh and Sudarshana Singh, the then presiding officer, Rameshwar Prasad Chaudhary, conducted reconciliation talks on 27 June, which were successful. Both parties submitted a mutual consent divorce petition, which the court accepted, dissolving the marriage and allowing both to live independently.

Regarding alimony, a settlement was reached on 5 August, where Sudarshana Singh was awarded more than ₹5 crore 10 lakh as lifelong alimony. It is noteworthy that an earlier amount of ₹20 lakh had also been given. With the mutual settlement of the matter, former Rajmata Pratibha Singh, wife of late former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, has started sending wedding invitations for her son’s upcoming marriage. Vikramaditya Singh will marry Dr. Amreen Kaur Sekhon, Assistant Professor (Psychology) at Panjab University, Chandigarh, on 22 September. To mark the occasion, a wedding feast will be organised at House No. 38, Sector-2, Chandigarh. Dr. Amreen Kaur is the daughter of Sardar Jotinder Singh Sekhon and Sardarni Opinder Kaur of Chandigarh.
