Adani Airports in Mumbai and Guwahati Earn Global Recognition for Design and Sustainable Development

Mumbai, June 16: Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) has established a strong global presence. Two of its airports have been included in the prestigious ‘Prix Versailles World’s Most Beautiful Airports List 2026.’ This achievement underscores the company’s commitment to developing world-class aviation infrastructure that contributes to economic growth, tourism, and regional progress.

The honored airports include the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) and the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) in Guwahati, specifically its Terminal-2.

The Prix Versailles awards, presented annually at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, recognize excellence in architecture and design. These awards are given to projects that showcase a remarkable blend of innovation, sustainability, cultural identity, and enhanced user experience.

With this recognition, AAHL joins an elite group of global airport operators whose infrastructure projects are redefining modern air travel through architectural excellence and passenger-centric design.

Navi Mumbai International Airport’s Terminal-1 was honored for its unique architecture inspired by the lotus, featuring futuristic design and technology, along with an excellent blend of art and functionality. This airport is envisioned as a world-class gateway, reflecting India’s ambition to become a modern global economic power.

Meanwhile, Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport’s Terminal-2 received accolades for its design inspired by the bamboo orchid. This design pays tribute to the rich biodiversity of Northeast India.

This terminal offers an exceptional mix of sustainability and utility, while also showcasing the cultural and natural heritage of Northeast India.

The Prix Versailles awards recognize new airports and terminals that promote modern architectural excellence along with smart and sustainable development.

According to the award organizers, this honor is bestowed upon projects where culture and environmental consciousness complement each other, presenting a richer and more balanced perspective to the world.

Other airports included in the 2026 list are located in Guangzhou, China; Frankfurt am Main, Germany; Kandal Stung, Cambodia; and Pittsburgh and San Diego in the United States.
