Burhanpur, May 27: Abhishek Jayaswal, a resident of the small village of Patonda in Burhanpur district, has become a symbol of self-reliance thanks to the Indian government‘s PM-FME scheme. After leaving his job, he launched a startup from his village that not only achieved personal success but also provided employment opportunities for local women, driving economic change.
After completing his education, Abhishek initially took up a job, but he aspired to create something of his own. During this time, he learned about the Prime Minister‘s Micro Food Enterprises (PM-FME) scheme.
He applied for the program and was approved for a loan of ₹19.94 lakh. With this financial support, he established a dehydrated food unit that processes vegetables into powder form.
In an interview, Abhishek shared, “This is our dehydrated unit where we prepare vegetable powders. Agriculture is my field, so I aimed to promote local products. Under the government scheme, I received a loan of ₹20 lakh, which includes subsidies. I am grateful to PM Modi for supporting the youth.”
Today, Abhishek’s startup is on the path to success. Local women are employed at the unit, which not only increases household incomes but also takes significant steps towards women’s empowerment in the village.
Ajay Mahajan, a collaborator of Abhishek, stated, “We benefited from the PM-FME scheme and started this unit. It has been very advantageous. Currently, six people are employed here. Abhishek and I manage the unit together.”
Local businessman Sandeep Rawal praised Abhishek, saying, “I thank him for inspiring and providing employment to youth, helping to combat unemployment. PM Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav are doing excellent work in creating job opportunities for the youth.”
