AAP Must Account for 11 Years: Manjinder Singh Sirsa

New Delhi, March 23: Delhi Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa condemned the decision of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislators to walk out of the assembly on Monday. He stated that opposition leader Arvind Kejriwal lacks the courage to discuss controversial issues.

Sirsa accused the opposition of shirking its responsibilities. He noted that the people of Delhi entrusted AAP with power in the opposition. However, during their 11 years in government, they evaded accountability, and now this drama continues as they neglect their duties in opposition.

On Monday, AAP members reportedly stayed away from the assembly proceedings, demanding the revocation of the suspension of four party legislators from the previous session.

Sirsa remarked that the opposition is avoiding discussions as issues from their tenure are now surfacing. He added that they are running away from the CAG report. For 11 years, Arvind Kejriwal has avoided presenting the CAG report in the assembly. All their wrongdoings will be exposed. Now, our government is bringing forth the CAG report, and they have fled the assembly.

Continuing his attack on the opposition, he mentioned that Atishi seldom attends the assembly, but he urged her: fleeing will not absolve your sins.

The Environment Minister emphasized that they have previously walked out during discussions on critical issues like pollution. He insisted that AAP must account for the last 11 years. He stated, “You have looted Delhi for 11 years. You must provide a full explanation. The people of Delhi have already ousted you from power, and now the assembly demands answers regarding the CAG report.”

Commenting on the protests organized outside by the opposition, he said, “These individuals are once again staging a drama outside. We invite you to come inside and respond to the CAG report.”

Earlier, Speaker Vijender Gupta also condemned the AAP legislators’ decision to boycott the assembly proceedings. He stated that not participating in the assembly and disrupting the democratic process is akin to seizing constitutional institutions.
