New Delhi: Aadhaar authentication transactions surged 8.47 percent year-on-year to reach 231 crore in November, reflecting the growing adoption of Aadhaar and the expansion of India’s digital economy. The government made this announcement on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Electronics and IT revealed that last month’s Aadhaar authentication transactions were the highest recorded in any month of the current financial year. In October, this number stood at 219.51 crore.

The ministry stated in its release, “The increasing usage demonstrates how Aadhaar is playing a catalytic role in the delivery of effective welfare schemes and is being voluntarily leveraged for services provided by service providers.”

According to the Ministry of Electronics and IT, there has been consistent growth in Aadhaar face authentication solutions. During November, approximately 60 percent of digital life certificates issued by pensioners utilized Aadhaar face authentication.

UIDAI‘s AI-based face authentication method works on both Android and iOS platforms. It enables users to verify their identity with just a face scan, ensuring convenience while maintaining strict security standards.

The ministry reported that 28.29 crore face authentication transactions were conducted in November 2025, compared to 12.04 crore such transactions during the same period in 2024.

E-KYC transactions also recorded growth during November. The month saw 47.19 crore such transactions, which is more than 24 percent higher compared to November 2024. Aadhaar e-KYC services continue to act as a catalyst in improving customer experience and enhancing ease of doing business across sectors, including banking and non-banking financial services.
