Ahmedabad, March 9: The final match between India and New Zealand is currently underway at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. BJP MP Anurag Thakur expressed confidence that the 140 crore people of India are united with Team India, believing that the nation will once again claim the World Cup title.
Thakur highlighted India’s impressive performance in the semifinals, stating that victory is assured in today’s final. New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that quickly backfired as Indian batsmen took control during the power play.
Abhishek Sharma, who had struggled throughout the tournament, made a remarkable comeback, scoring 52 runs off just 21 balls, including six fours and three sixes. Sanju Samson continued his stellar form, narrowly missing a century with a brilliant 89 runs off 46 balls, featuring five fours and eight sixes.
Ishan Kishan also contributed significantly, scoring 54 runs off 25 balls, with four fours and four sixes.
One cricket fan shared, “Our entire family and friends are here, and we are thrilled with India’s outstanding batting. We believe India will easily win this match.”
India posted a total of 255 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs. New Zealand now needs 256 runs to win the final. At one point, it seemed India could reach 275 runs, but regular wickets slowed the scoring rate. However, Shivam Dube’s powerful shots in the final overs have put India in a strong position.
