Zoya Hussain Discusses Her Role in Hunkar: The Roar and Womens Safety Issues
Zoya Hussain shares insights on her role in Hunkar: The Roar and addresses womens safety concerns in an interview.

Mumbai, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Zoya Hussain is currently in the spotlight for her recently released streaming series, “Hunkar: The Roar.” In a recent interview, she revealed that she felt less pressure compared to her co-actors, making it easier for her to separate from her character.
Hussain stated, “For me, stepping into and out of my character wasn’t difficult at all. At least, it was much easier than for my co-actors, who had a heavier responsibility.”
She emphasized that the difficulty of leaving a character behind varies with each project. “It depends on how emotionally impactful the role is and how the shooting day goes. Sometimes, a character can be very serious and emotionally taxing. However, if the day is light, it becomes easier to move on. It’s entirely dependent on the experience and situation of each artist,” she explained.
In addition to her acting insights, Hussain addressed the pressing issue of women’s safety. She pointed out that failures exist at multiple levels, and the problem is not confined to India alone. “There is no place we can confidently say is completely safe for women. This issue manifests in various fields, professions, countries, and social classes,” she noted.
Hussain acknowledged that while there have been improvements in women’s rights over the past several decades, the situation is far from ideal. “Women today have more rights and opportunities than ever before, but much work remains to be done regarding their safety,” she said.
In “Hunkar: The Roar,” Hussain stars alongside Fatima Sana Shaikh and Raghuveer Yadav in significant roles. The series is currently streaming on the OTT platform JioCinema.
