Yogi hands over 100-day agenda to Ministers; Bans buying new car, furniture or leaving UP without permission

Lucknow, March 31 : The Yogi Adityanath 2.0 government in Uttar Pradesh has gone strict on the Ministers with issuing several instructions to control the misuse of funds and create discipline. Following his oath-taking ceremony on March 25, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has started taking quick decisions. After the formation of government and division of departments, now all eyes are set on the work of the Ministers. The first instruction given by the Chief Minister during his second innings was that the Ministers will not be allowed to keep old staff. They will also not be able to hire personal staff of their choice. In order to maintain his USP of zero tolerance and transparency on issues of corruption in this government as well, the CM took three tough decisions, officials said here on Thursday. Adityanath has given a target of 100 days to all the newly-elected Ministers of UP government. All Ministers will have to review their respective departments within 100 days. Based on this review, a master plan will have to be prepared after the work plan. Departmental presentations before the Cabinet will be made by the concerned Minister only. The Departmental Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary will be there only for assistance. Also, the Secretary or lower level officials will not brief the CM. Besides, the Ministers will have to tell the Chief Minister in their report what will they do in the next 100 days. What’s new in the department? Along with this, the work of digitisation is also to be taken forward in the department. In the first government, Adityanath himself had a continuous review meeting of all departments. In these meetings also, departmental ministers were involved, along with the officers of the department. This time, the departmental Ministers will have to give the review with their officers. If any Minister of the Yogi Cabinet is going out of UP, then he will have to inform both the Chief Minister and the party. Adityanath has issued this instruction to prevent unnecessary visits of Ministers and their meeting senior leaders in Delhi. It will be mandatory for all Ministers of the state government, to give information before leaving the state for either official or personal work, sources said. Without informing, no Minister will not be able to go out of the state. This instruction has been given to avoid the misuse of government funds and any kind of controversy, they added. Adityanath has given instructions to take strict steps to stop wasteful expenditure. The state Estate department is preparing new bungalows for the Ministers of Yogi government. The government has given instructions that there is no need to spend much money on furnishing in the bungalows and no need to replace furniture as well. The Ministers, who already have a house, do not need a new one. Not only this, new vehicles will not be bought for the Ministers. There will be no purchase of new furniture, along with big luxury vehicles and new furnishings in their house and offices. This will prevent wasteful spending, said the sources. MB RJ
