Yogi Government Declares Two-Day Holiday for Ram Navami Celebrations

Lucknow, March 25: In a significant move, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has announced an additional holiday on March 27 in celebration of Ram Navami. Initially, March 26 was designated as a holiday, allowing for two consecutive days off.

This decision comes in response to the anticipated surge of devotees at temples during the festivities. The administration believes that the extra day off will facilitate easier access for worshippers who flock to temples for prayers and darshan.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of honoring faith and tradition with this initiative. The government aims to respect public sentiments and ensure that the festival is observed in a peaceful and organized manner.

With this announcement, devotees can now participate in religious events without any interruptions over the two-day holiday.

It is noteworthy that Ram Navami attracts large crowds at various temples across Uttar Pradesh. Particularly in Ayodhya, the influx of devotees has significantly increased since the construction of the Ram Temple. Each year, around 40 to 50 million people visit Ayodhya and its surrounding temples for darshan.

Given the expected high turnout this year, the administration, along with temple authorities, is collaborating to ensure smooth access for devotees. This proactive approach is the reason behind the declaration of an additional holiday.

Last year, thousands of devotees visited Ram Lalla in Ayodhya during Ram Navami, and the arrangements to manage the crowd were commendably efficient. This year, the police and administration are already on high alert, prepared for the anticipated influx of visitors.
