
Lucknow, June 21: On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day, Uttar Pradesh‘s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya participated in a grand yoga camp at the sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. He practiced yoga alongside thousands of participants, emphasizing that yoga is the foundation of a healthy life and should be integrated into daily routines.
Maurya stated that due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continuous efforts, yoga has gained a new cultural identity for India on the global stage, with nearly 190 countries celebrating Yoga Day today.
As the chief guest, he addressed the crowd after the yoga session, highlighting that the tradition of yoga, as imparted by Indian sages, is guiding the world towards a healthier life. He reiterated that the concept of ‘the first joy is a healthy body’ remains relevant, as a healthy body and a peaceful mind are life’s greatest assets.
He explained that yoga is not merely physical exercise; it is a science that connects the body, mind, and soul. Regular practice of yoga not only keeps individuals physically fit but also frees them from mental stress, enabling a positive life. He urged the residents of the state to practice yoga daily and inspire their family members to do the same.
During the event, Maurya honored yoga practitioners, social workers, and esteemed citizens who contributed significantly to the success of the yoga camp and the promotion of yoga by presenting them with certificates of appreciation.
After the program, Maurya spoke to reporters, expressing that the public has unwavering faith in Prime Minister Modi‘s leadership and policies. This trust is propelling the nation towards development and self-reliance.
He also wished good luck to all candidates participating in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), hoping for their bright futures. He emphasized that the youth are the country’s greatest strength, and the government is committed to realizing their dreams at every level.
