Xiaomi and Poco Phones to Lose HyperOS Support by 2026

Xiaomi is set to discontinue software updates for a significant number of its smartphones in 2026. The company’s updated schedule reveals that 14 models across Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco brands will reach the end of their HyperOS support next year.

This group includes a mix of flagship devices, popular midrange models, and entry-level phones widely used in various markets. Once support ends, these phones will be officially classified as end-of-life (EoL). This means they will no longer receive Android updates, new HyperOS versions, or monthly security patches.

Complete list of affected models

Among the notable devices on the list are the Poco F5 and Poco F5 Pro. These models are expected to get the HyperOS 3 update based on Android 15, but that will be their final software upgrade. After May 9, 2026, the Poco F5 series will stop receiving any further updates.

Xiaomi’s older flagship phones are also nearing the end of support. The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will lose updates in March 2026, whereas the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro will continue to be supported until October 13, 2026. Additionally, the Xiaomi 12 Lite is scheduled to reach EoL on July 1, 2026.

Redmi and Poco midrange and budget phones affected

Several Redmi devices will also lose HyperOS support, including the Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi 12C, Redmi 13C, and entry-level models like the Redmi A2 and A2+. On the Poco side, the X-series models such as Poco X5 and X5 Pro 5G will reach end-of-life status in February 2026.

Implications of ending software support

Even after updates stop, these phones will continue to function normally. Apps will keep working and the hardware will remain operational. However, the major concern is security. Without regular patches, newly discovered vulnerabilities will remain unaddressed, potentially putting user data at risk over time.

Users who depend on any Xiaomi, Redmi, or Poco phones listed for sensitive activities should consider upgrading to newer models before the support period ends to maintain security and performance.
