Xi Jinping Engages with NPC Representatives on National Issues

Beijing, March 3: Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, engaged in discussions with representatives of the National People’s Congress (NPC) and members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) as part of the crucial “Two Sessions” program. This event has occurred over 60 times since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party.

During these sessions, Xi has consistently addressed topics such as development, reform, and the livelihoods of the people. He employs vivid metaphors to explain governance methods and outline national development strategies.

Xi has emphasized the importance of “adjusting the economic structure and transforming the development model.” He urged a focus on industrial optimization and upgrading, fully leveraging innovation-driven growth, pursuing green development, and striving for rebirth like a phoenix.

In the 2022 sessions, Xi highlighted that “food security is of paramount importance to the nation.” He stressed that we cannot afford to be careless regarding food security, which has always been a significant concern for millions of farmers.

Since the 18th National Congress, Xi has repeatedly asserted that “clean water and green mountains are invaluable assets.” He used this metaphor to underscore the need to properly manage the relationship between development and ecological environmental protection.
