
Beijing, March 7: Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the fourth plenary session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on March 6. During the session, he engaged with members from the Farmers and Workers Democratic Party, the Chyo San Society, and the medical and social welfare sectors. Xi listened to their opinions and suggestions during the joint meeting.
He stressed that achieving a Healthy China by 2035 is a strategic decision made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The 15th Five-Year Plan is a crucial period for reaching this goal. We must strive for decisive progress with a comprehensive approach.
After hearing from the attendees, Xi delivered an important speech. He emphasized that China is both a socialist and a developing country, with a vast population and a significant urban-rural divide. In building a Healthy China, we must adhere to the unique path of medical and health development that aligns with China’s national conditions and implement policies suitable for the new era in healthcare.
He noted that constructing a Healthy China is an organized project. It is essential to focus on improving the public health system by addressing critical issues that arise from the diverse demands of the populace. We must invest resources into creating a superior and efficient medical system and promote a healthy and civilized lifestyle.
Xi urged the CPPCC to play its role by deeply investigating relevant theories and practices to present practical measures and suggestions.
