Ramnagar, February 28: A shocking incident occurred in the city of Bidadi, Karnataka, where a spurned girlfriend stabbed her male friend after he refused to marry her.
An official reported that an FIR has been filed at the Bidadi police station. The accused has been identified as 30-year-old Sudha, while the victim is 27-year-old Venu Gopal.
According to initial investigations, Sudha became enraged when her boyfriend began avoiding her and declined her marriage proposal. The attack took place on Thursday night, resulting in stab wounds to Venu Gopal’s chest, abdomen, and arms. He has been admitted to a local hospital and is reported to be in critical condition.
Police stated that Venu Gopal works as a gym trainer in Bidadi, while Sudha is employed at a private company. The two met at the gym and had been in a relationship for nearly a year, with Sudha frequently visiting Venu Gopal’s home.
However, for the past four months, Venu Gopal had been distancing himself from Sudha and ultimately rejected her marriage proposal. Reports suggest that Sudha became furious upon discovering that Venu Gopal was seeing another woman, prompting her to plan the attack.
The police revealed that Venu Gopal had been avoiding Sudha for about a month. Allegedly, Sudha had been waiting for an opportunity to attack, carrying a knife in her bag for a week with the intent to harm him.
On Thursday night, she managed to contact Venu Gopal and asked him to come outside. When he did, she reportedly lunged at him with the knife. Following the attack, Venu Gopal collapsed on the spot and called his parents and friends for help.
Sudha has been taken into custody, and police are currently interrogating her. Further investigations are ongoing.
