Woman Seriously Injured in Knife Attack Over Money Demand in New Delhi

New Delhi, March 26: A serious case of attempted murder has emerged in the Mayur Vihar police station area. The incident occurred on Wednesday night, resulting in a woman being admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Hospital with severe injuries.

The police were alerted by the hospital that a woman named Afsana had arrived in critical condition. Upon reaching the hospital, officers questioned her about the incident. Afsana revealed that around 9:45 PM that same day, her cousin Aslam, who hails from Chitthi village in Muzaffarpur district, Bihar, and works at Biryani Corner in Block-27, came to her home.

Aslam allegedly verbally abused Afsana and demanded money. When she refused to comply, he became enraged and attacked her. Afsana claimed that after she denied him money, Aslam threatened to kill her and struck her neck with a sharp object (knife). The attack left Afsana with serious injuries. Following the incident, Aslam’s mother brought him to LBS Hospital, where treatment commenced. According to hospital doctors, her injuries are severe, and they are monitoring the nature of the wounds.

The Mayur Vihar police have registered an FIR in this case. The FIR includes charges under Section 109(1) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3(5) of the BNS. Aslam has been arrested in connection with the incident, and the weapon used in the attack has also been recovered. The Delhi police reported that the injured woman is currently receiving treatment in the hospital and her condition is stable. A thorough investigation into the case is ongoing.

In a separate incident, a minor was stabbed to death in the Dayalpur area of Northeast Delhi. The police have registered a murder case. The deceased’s mother, Shabana, stated that her child was lured away and killed within half an hour. She claimed to know the assailants, stating they have committed multiple murders before. Shabana demanded the death penalty for the perpetrators. The deceased’s father mentioned that his child was approximately 15 years old and was engaged in religious studies. He had left home around 8 PM, and they received news of his murder around 11:30 PM.
