New Delhi, December 1. Winter season is not just a time for body protection, but also a very sensitive period for eyes. During winters, complaints of eye dryness increase significantly and this also affects eye vision. In such situations, taking care of eyes along with the body becomes necessary.
In Ayurveda, eyes are considered a mirror of the body’s internal condition. Increased pitta in the body, stress, pollution, lack of proper sleep, weak digestion, excessive cold and wrong eating habits first impact the eyes. Therefore, eye care is very important. Triphala is used for many stomach-related diseases, but its water is nectar for eyes.
In Ayurveda, Triphala is considered an eye medicine. For this, soak Triphala powder in water at night and in the morning, filter that water and gently wash eyes with it. This will reduce eye dryness and provide relief from itching. Cow’s desi ghee is also essential for eye care. It should be consumed daily with one spoon of food and also applied.
If dirt gets stuck in eyes or there is redness, desi ghee should be applied lightly like kajal. This will make eyes stress-free and the stuck dirt will also come out. Along with this, massage the soles at night before sleeping and also apply ghee behind the ears.
To increase eye brightness, consume amla daily on empty stomach. For this, mix amla powder in warm water or take fresh amla juice. Amla contains abundant Vitamin C, which is effective in strengthening hair as well as improving eyesight. Along with this, 20-minute exercise is also beneficial for eyes. For this, every 20 minutes, look continuously at one place 20 feet away for 20 seconds. This will remove eye fatigue.
Along with this, don’t forget to blink your eyelids while working on screen. While working on computer, we forget to blink, which directly affects the eyes. Put drops of pure palash or rose water in eyes daily. This reduces irritation and itching caused by pollution.
