West Bengal STF Arrests Two Illegal Bangladeshi Nationals

Kolkata, March 8: The Special Task Force (STF) of West Bengal has apprehended two illegal Bangladeshi nationals. According to an official statement, reliable intelligence indicated that these individuals had fled Bangladesh after committing serious crimes, including extortion and murder. They attempted to seek refuge in the bordering area of Bongaon and planned to return to Bangladesh at the first opportunity.

The STF acted on this information and conducted a raid, resulting in the capture of the two individuals, identified as Rahul, also known as Faisal Karim Masood (37 years old), and Alamgir Hussain (34 years old). They were detained in the Bongaon area during the night of March 7-8, 2026.

Initial inquiries revealed that Rahul, along with Alamgir, was involved in the murder of a political activist from Bangladesh, Osman Hadi, before fleeing the country. They illegally crossed into Indian territory via the Meghalaya border and traveled through various locations before reaching Bongaon in West Bengal, where they intended to return to Bangladesh.

A special case has been registered in connection with this incident. The suspects have been remanded to police custody and will be presented in the relevant court today.
