New Delhi, March 21 : The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday questioned Trinamool Congress MP and General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee for around eight hours at its New Delhi office on charges of alleged money laundering in the coal scam of West Bengal. Abhishek was summoned by ED for questioning in Delhi. He reached the ED office at around 11 am and left after 7 pm. In September last year, Abhishek appeared before ED officials and was questioned for over eight hours in an alleged money laundering case. After a detailed study, ED had filed a case under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in November, 2020, based on an FIR of CBI, which alleged a multi-crore coal pilferage scam related to Eastern Coalfield mines.
