War in the Middle East: AIMIMs Waris Pathan Questions Modi Governments Silence in Parliament

Mumbai, March 26: Political rhetoric is intensifying regarding the ongoing conflict among Iran, Israel, and the United States in the Middle East. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a crucial meeting with chief ministers from all states on Friday. Waris Pathan, the national spokesperson for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has voiced his concerns on this matter.

In a statement, Pathan emphasized, “The parliamentary session is ongoing. Given the war in West Asia, the government should discuss this in Parliament. If the government held such a discussion, opposition parties would have the opportunity to express their views. This would clarify India’s stance and the steps we are taking regarding the current situation. However, the government has only called for an all-party meeting, where everyone gets just 2-3 minutes to speak before leaving. Now, the government is about to talk to all chief ministers. We will see what comes of it.”

He added, “I believe that war is not a solution to any problem. It should be stopped. Those who claim India is a global leader and the Prime Minister has a ’56-inch chest’ should have taken steps to prevent the situation from escalating into war. If you do not condemn the war, what are we to think? India has had very good relations with Iran. The current war conditions have created panic. People are stockpiling rations and fuel, fearing shortages if the conflict continues. Some are even talking about a mini lockdown. Therefore, the government should come forward and make a statement considering all these factors.”

Pathan also commented on External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s remarks labeling Pakistan as a “broker nation” during the all-party meeting. He stated, “Such language should not be used. Pakistan breeds and promotes terrorists. Both Israel and Pakistan have caused significant turmoil. Our party president has exposed Pakistan globally. Pakistan holds no significance. India is a powerful nation and must take action on this issue.”
