Mumbai, March 26: Vivo is gearing up to unveil its next camera-centric flagship, the X300 Ultra, with details emerging ahead of its launch. Scheduled for March 30, the X300 Ultra will be accompanied by the more compact X300s, and recent leaks indicate a strong focus on photography this year.
In terms of design, the X300 Ultra does not stray far from previous X-series models, but its color options, revealed through leaked renders, certainly make it stand out. The three variants include a soft green with a dual-tone finish, a sleek matte black, and a white option featuring a similar two-tone look. The design prominently features a large circular camera module on the back, a hallmark of Vivo’s flagship line.
The camera setup is where the excitement lies. The phone is anticipated to include two 200MP sensors, a rarity even among current flagship devices. The primary camera utilizes Sony’s LYT901 sensor with a 35mm focal length, while the periscope telephoto lens employs Samsung’s HP0 sensor with an 85mm focal length. Additionally, there is a 50MP ultrawide camera based on Sony’s LYT818, providing a versatile setup for various photography needs.
Vivo is also rumored to introduce optional ZEISS teleconverter attachments, extending zoom capabilities to 200mm and even 400mm. While this may cater to a niche audience, it underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing the camera experience. There are even discussions about a bundled kit that includes a grip and additional accessories for users seeking a more camera-like experience.
Performance is expected to be robust as well. A prototype has surfaced on Geekbench, showcasing scores that align with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The device is likely to feature up to 16GB of RAM and will operate on Android 16 with OriginOS 6.
With the launch imminent, the X300 Ultra appears to be more than just a typical upgrade; it aims to distinguish itself through its advanced imaging capabilities.
