Mumbai, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : A video circulating online from the prayer meet of the late actor Mushtaq Khan has created a stir involving fellow actor Rajpal Yadav. Content creator Nazma Shaikh has stepped forward to clarify the situation after claims emerged that Yadav was asked to leave the event.
In the viral footage, a woman, identified as Nazma Shaikh, can be heard saying, “You will be sent out now; this is not a place for selfies.” This statement led to speculation that Rajpal Yadav was being disrespected or removed from the prayer meet.
Nazma Shaikh took to Instagram to explain her actions. She revealed that the gathering was becoming increasingly chaotic as attendees began taking selfies with celebrities, which frustrated her. Importantly, her anger was directed at those taking selfies, not at Yadav.
She emphasized the close relationship between Yadav and Mushtaq Khan, stating that Yadav was like a younger brother to Khan. Nazma explained, “Today, I want to address the viral video involving Rajpal Yadav from Mushtaq Khan’s prayer meet, as people have spread baseless rumors. The truth is different. Rajpal was very close to Mushtaq; he was with him right up until two hours before his passing and attended both the funeral and the prayer meet.”
Nazma further clarified that the prayer meet was a solemn occasion intended for prayers, not for photography. She pointed out that many celebrities were present, and the crowd’s behavior was becoming inappropriate as they sought selfies with stars like Rishikesh and Rajpal.
She reiterated that her frustration was aimed at those who were treating the event as a photo opportunity, stating, “I expressed my anger towards those who came solely for pictures, unaware of the environment they were in. It was not directed at Rajpal Yadav. I urge my friends in the media not to spread falsehoods and to present the complete truth.”
Rajpal Yadav attended the prayer meet held on September 30 in Mumbai to pay his respects to Mushtaq Khan and met with the grieving family, visibly emotional during the tribute.
