Varanasi Dressed to Impress for PM Modis Visit

Varanasi, April 28: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit, Varanasi is fully adorned and ready to welcome him. The atmosphere in the city is vibrant with excitement, and major roads have been specially decorated. Reports indicate that the routes PM Modi will travel have been adorned in shades of ochre, giving Varanasi a festive, bride-like appearance.

Earlier, BJP National President Nitin Naveen and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath initiated the day’s events with prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

PM Modi is scheduled to arrive at Babatpur Airport around 4 PM today, from where he will head directly to the public meeting venue in the BAREKA complex. Here, he will address approximately 50,000 women as part of the “Nari Shakti Vandan” program.

During this visit, the Prime Minister will unveil development projects worth around ₹6,300 crores. These include several significant initiatives, such as the Signature Bridge. Additionally, he will flag off two Amrit Bharat trains and inaugurate or lay the foundation for a total of 163 projects, which are considered crucial for Varanasi’s development.

He will also flag off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains connecting Banaras to Pune (Hadapsar) and Ayodhya to Mumbai (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus).

In light of the Prime Minister’s visit, stringent security measures have been implemented. Approximately 2,000 police personnel have been deployed, including over 700 female officers. Surveillance will be maintained through CCTV cameras and an anti-drone system. Quick Response Teams (QRT) and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) units equipped with advanced weapons have also been stationed to ensure security is not compromised.

After the events, the Prime Minister will stay overnight at the BAREKA guest house. The following morning, he is expected to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple for prayers. A roadshow spanning nearly 12 kilometers is also planned, during which he will greet the public on his way to the temple.

The people of Kashi and BJP workers are displaying significant enthusiasm for the Prime Minister’s visit. Both the administration and party members are committed to making this event a success, recognizing its importance from both political and developmental perspectives. Senior BJP leaders, including Nitin Naveen, Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, and Brajesh Pathak, are expected to attend the program.
