CPI Responds to Claims of ₹11,000 Crore Loss from Rally in Delhi
CPI leader P. Santosh Kumar defends the recent rally in Delhi amid accusations of financial loss and AI-generated images.

New Delhi, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions have escalated following a recent rally at Ramleela Maidan, organized by the India Bloc. The rally has sparked claims from traders of a staggering ₹11,000 crore in losses. P. Santosh Kumar, a member of the Communist Party of India (CPI), strongly rebuffed these allegations, questioning the motives behind the traders’ letter to Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor and dismissing accusations of using artificial intelligence to fabricate images of the event.
Kumar emphasized the rally’s success, asserting that it drew a significant crowd. In response to the All India Traders Confederation’s request to relocate the protest site outside of Delhi, he stated that such demands are nonsensical, particularly since the Supreme Court has already ruled on this matter. He highlighted that Ramleela Maidan is a public space for all, contrasting it with Jantar Mantar, where protests are not permitted. Kumar suggested that the letter was written out of frustration from those who were upset by the rally’s turnout.
The CPI leader took a jab at the traders’ claims of financial loss, suggesting they should address their concerns directly at the BJP office on Dindayal Upadhyay Marg. He pointed to two main issues: the involvement of the Chief Election Commissioner and the BJP’s alleged attempts to control the electoral process. Kumar insisted that the BJP should acknowledge the large turnout at the rally, which he described as a resounding success.
Central Minister Kiren Rijiju’s allegations that the Congress party used AI-generated images to exaggerate crowd sizes were met with skepticism by Kumar. He dismissed Rijiju’s claims as misguided, asserting that the rally transformed Delhi into a sea of people. Kumar called it absurd to question the authenticity of the crowd after witnessing such a massive turnout.
Kumar also criticized Rijiju’s understanding of parliamentary processes, suggesting that the minister is out of touch with current events. He responded to BJP MP Sambit Patra’s comments about empty seats at the rally, stating that while some attendees left in the afternoon, a crowd stretched for two kilometers outside the venue. He reiterated that the sheer number of people present cannot be overlooked, declaring the rally a remarkable event that captured global attention.
