Lucknow, March 7: Every year, International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8. In light of this, Babita Singh Chauhan, Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission, announced a statewide women’s honor campaign from March 8 to 13 during a conversation with a news agency on Saturday.
She referred to International Women’s Day as Women’s Honor Day and stated, “What can we do for women? This is our thought process, and our National Commission has designated a week for this purpose, from March 8 to 13. During this period, hearings will take place in every district across the nation and the state.”
Following this, the cases related to women that have been received by our National Commission have been distributed across all districts. She mentioned, “In one week, we will resolve all cases that are with the National Commission or any pending cases we have.”
Additionally, she indicated that wherever time permits, they will organize community meetings to connect with relevant departments. Regarding the Uttar Pradesh Commission, she emphasized their commitment, stating, “We will not rest until we awaken the last woman sitting quietly.”
She further stated, “Our Prime Minister Modi talks about a self-reliant India. Given that women constitute half of our population, it is our duty to empower every woman in the country. Whether it pertains to education, health, or self-reliance, we will work on all these issues.”
Discussing government initiatives, she said, “Both the state and central governments have numerous schemes today. If these reach every woman, I don’t believe any woman will miss the opportunity to become self-reliant. The only requirement is to inform them, as many women are unaware of various schemes due to a lack of education. Sometimes, due to online systems, they are unable to benefit from these schemes or know how to apply for them. We will arrange facilities to assist them with all these matters.”
