Lucknow, March 9: The Uttar Pradesh government has initiated an online booking service for circuit houses and guest houses under the Public Works Department. This new system aims to modernize and enhance transparency in the booking process, allowing rooms to be reserved online at 21 circuit houses and 334 guest houses across the state.
With the complete digitization of the booking process, reserving rooms in circuit houses and guest houses will now be more straightforward, transparent, and organized compared to previous methods.
An official stated that the Public Works Department has fully transitioned the booking process to an online platform. They have developed a unified web-based Circuit House Information System. Users will have access to a real-time room availability dashboard and live room status updates through the online portal, making it easy to check how many rooms are available at each circuit house.
This system digitally manages the rooms, meals, and other resources of the circuit houses, which were previously handled manually via email or phone calls. The online booking also includes a fully digital payment and record management system. Applicants will need to upload their identification or authorization letter at the time of booking.
Payments will be processed online. After payment, users will automatically receive a receipt via email and SMS. Additionally, all transactions will be recorded in a digital ledger, facilitating revenue monitoring.
Real-time monitoring of all bookings and revenue will be possible through a centralized dashboard at both the department headquarters and district levels. This will help prevent revenue loss and enhance transparency. The new system is expected to improve asset utilization, increase revenue, and promote accountability while providing easier access to services for the public.
Some rooms in the circuit houses will remain reserved for VIP visits and emergency government use, while the remaining rooms will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for the general public. People can easily book rooms through the website issued by the Circuit House Information System. In special circumstances, on-the-spot bookings may also be made through the online portal with district administration approval. However, the district magistrate retains the authority to cancel any prior bookings in case of VIP visits or administrative needs.
