Gorakhpur, September 29 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressed the significance of unity within Sanatan Dharma as a source of strength and security during a speech in Gorakhpur. Speaking at a memorial event for the late Mahant Digvijayanath and Mahant Avedyanath, he highlighted that while worship practices may vary among different sects, the collective welfare of all is rooted in the strength of a unified Sanatan Dharma.
Adityanath urged that if 1.4 billion people unite in their beliefs, no force in the world can stand against them. He warned that disunity leads to decline, while a shared voice fosters strength. The Chief Minister paid tribute to both spiritual leaders, recalling their contributions to the community.
He remarked that those who cannot tolerate the glory of Lord Ram and Sanatan Dharma will resort to misinformation and confusion. Drawing a parallel to Hanuman’s recognition of Kalnemi, he advised followers to remain vigilant against such deceptive tactics.
Mahant Digvijayanath, he noted, believed that India’s freedom extended beyond mere political independence to encompass cultural freedom. He advocated for the restoration of the Somnath temple, paralleling it with the need for similar efforts in Ayodhya. The CM recounted how, in 1949, key figures including Mahant Digvijayanath played pivotal roles during the manifestation of Ram Lalla, with strategic discussions taking place among prominent leaders of the time.
Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the grand developments at Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, and Vindhyavasini Dham. He also acknowledged the global recognition of Sanatan traditions showcased during the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela and mentioned the Vaishnav Kumbh in Vrindavan.
The Chief Minister urged that the teachings of Mahant Digvijayanath and Mahant Avedyanath must be passed on to the younger generation. He emphasized that the visionary work of these leaders lays a strong foundation for the future. Adityanath noted that Mahant Digvijayanath founded the Maharana Pratap Education Council in 1932, driven by a sense of nationalism and self-respect.
He highlighted Digvijayanath’s critical role in establishing Gorakhpur University and other educational institutions. Today, the Maharana Pratap Education Council operates around 50 to 55 institutions, including universities, medical colleges, and agricultural science centers.
The Chief Minister concluded by affirming that Gorakhnath Peeth, while rooted in the Nath tradition, is dedicated to the broader Sanatan community, promoting equality among all castes and sects, where everyone shares meals together and all spiritual leaders receive equal respect.
