Udaipur, 15 November (Daily Kiran). Tension erupted in Udaipur’s Sunderwas area late on Thursday night after residents found the severed remains of a calf. Locals responded by blocking the Pratapnagar–Sunderwas road, leading to a heavy police presence from three police stations—Pratapnagar, Hiranmagri and Ghantaghar.

The incident took place around midnight in the Mandal area of Sunderwas. Around 11 pm, residents spotted a calf’s severed head and hooves lying by the roadside, while the body was missing. Angered by the sight, people gathered and brought vehicles onto the main road to block traffic.
Following reports of unrest, DSP Rajesh Yadav, Pratapnagar SHO Rajendra Singh, Hiranmagri SHO Bharat Yogi and teams from three police stations reached the spot. After hours of discussion, the forensic team collected samples and an FIR was registered. Officials assured residents of an impartial investigation, after which the situation calmed.
Local residents said there is no garbage collection centre or slaughterhouse in Sunderwas, raising questions about how the remains reached the area. They also claimed this is not the first such incident—similar cases have occurred twice before, but no concrete investigation was carried out. Residents had earlier staged protests demanding action.
