U.S. Launches Major Attack on Iran Near Hormuz Strait

Washington, July 15: The United States has intensified its military operations against Iran. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that it targeted dozens of Iranian military installations near the Hormuz Strait and coastal areas in a seven-hour assault.

According to CENTCOM, the operation concluded at 10 PM U.S. time. American fighter jets, drones, and naval vessels conducted precise strikes on Iran’s missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, and coastal defense systems.

The objective of these attacks was to weaken Iran’s ability to pose threats to international commercial vessels and civilian crews.

The Hormuz Strait is crucial for global trade and energy supplies. These strikes coincided with the U.S. resuming its blockade against ships traveling to and from Iranian ports and coastal regions, which took effect at 4 PM U.S. time.

CENTCOM noted that over 20 U.S. Navy warships and hundreds of military aircraft were deployed in the Middle East. The U.S. military remains vigilant, lethal, and prepared. Admiral Brad Cooper, the commander of U.S. Central Command, stated that this recent action was a response to multiple attacks by Iran on commercial vessels and neighboring Gulf countries.

Cooper mentioned that in the past week, Iran deliberately targeted seven commercial ships in the area, resulting in casualties among nearly a dozen civilian crew members who were killed, missing, or injured. He also indicated that the Iranian military launched dozens of missiles and drones towards neighboring Gulf countries.

Admiral Cooper further asserted, “The U.S. military holds Iran accountable for this unnecessary aggression that endangers innocent lives.”

However, CENTCOM did not provide specific details about the locations of the attacks or assess the damage incurred. There was also no information on whether there were any casualties.

The command did not disclose the identities of the commercial vessels mentioned by Admiral Cooper, nor did it reveal the nationalities of the crew members or the names of the Gulf countries allegedly targeted by Iranian missiles and drones.

CENTCOM stated that the U.S. military is prepared to conduct further operations under the orders of the Commander-in-Chief.
